Nate Aden

Nate Aden currently serves as the Head of Financial Standards at The Science Based Targets initiative since 2015, while also holding roles as Climate Advisory Board Member at ATLAS Infrastructure and Expert Review Committee Member at the World Benchmarking Alliance since 2023. As an Expert Peer Reviewer for the UN Race to Zero Expert Peer Review Group and an Advisory Board Member for the Green Finance Alliance since 2022, Nate advises on climate alignment for financial institutions. Additionally, Nate has been a Senior Fellow at the World Resources Institute since 2011 and served as a Senior Research Associate at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory from 2005 to 2011. Nate began a career in international trade as an Agricultural Marketing Specialist at the US Consulate General in Shanghai from 2001 to 2003. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Energy and Resources from the University of California, Berkeley, a Master of Arts from Stanford University, and a Bachelor of Arts from Cornell University.
