Rhys Gerholdt

Rhys Gerholdt is an accomplished communications professional with extensive experience in climate and environmental initiatives. Currently serving as the Director of Communications and Media Strategy for the Climate Program at the World Resources Institute since March 2014, Rhys has previously held roles such as Senior Communications Manager and Media Relations Specialist within the same organization. Prior to this, Rhys was the Executive Director of CarbonfreeDC, leading efforts to engage residents in reducing their carbon footprints and securing significant media coverage for the organization. Rhys also has a solid background at the World Wildlife Fund, where skillful communication strategies were developed for national campaigns, and at the US Climate Action Network, facilitating media strategies among numerous environmental organizations. Educational qualifications include a Master's degree in Communication from The Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor's degree in Political Science from New Mexico State University.
