Director Of Global Research And Data, WRI Polsky Center For The Global Energy Transition at World Resources Institute

Taryn Fransen currently serves as the Director of Science, Research, and Data for the Global Climate Program at the World Resources Institute since July 2023. Prior to this role, Taryn held the position of Senior Fellow within the same program from 2018 to 2023 and was a Senior Policy Advisor for the Global Climate Action Summit at the Office of the Governor in California in 2018. Taryn has extensive experience with the World Resources Institute, having previously worked as the Director of the Open Climate Network (2011-2017) and as a Senior Associate with the GHG Protocol Initiative (2005-2010). Additionally, Taryn was a member of the Board of Directors for the Greenhouse Gas Management Institute from 2016 to 2019. Taryn Fransen's educational background includes a Doctor of Philosophy in Energy and Resources and a Graduate Certificate in Applied Data Science from the University of California, Berkeley, as well as a Master of Science in Earth Systems (Ecology) and a Bachelor of Science in Earth Systems (Environmental Economics) from Stanford University.
