Beka Jakeli has extensive experience in the tourism sector, currently serving as the Director of External Relations and Chief of Member Relations at the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) since June 2012. Previous roles include Deputy Chairman at the Georgian National Tourism Administration and Head of the Office for Planning, Resorts Development and Statistics at the Department of Tourism and Resorts of Georgia. Beka Jakeli also worked as a Business Operations Manager and Consultant to the DMO at Resort Ureki. An academic background includes ongoing studies for a Master of Science in Global Management at The University of Salford, a Master's in Business Administration with a focus on Hospitality and International Tourism Commerce and Marketing from Tbilisi State Institute of Economic Relations, and a Bachelor's in Business Administration in Leisure and International Tourism Commerce and Marketing from the same institution. Additionally, a postgraduate program in Destination Management and participation in the International Visitor Leadership Programme were completed in June 2008.
