Katsuhisa Ishizaki

Katsuhisa Ishizaki has a diverse work experience that spans over several years. Katsuhisa is currently serving as the Deputy Director for the International Affairs Department at the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), a position they have held since April 2022. Prior to this role, they worked as a Project Specialist at the same organization from April 2021 to March 2022.

Before joining the UNWTO, Katsuhisa held various managerial positions at the Japan National Tourism Organization. From October 2018 to January 2021, they worked as the Manager of the Southeast Asia Group. Before that, they served as the Manager of the Regional Promotion Support Office from October 2017 to September 2018. Katsuhisa also gained experience as the Manager of the Europe, America, and Australia Group from August 2015 to September 2017. Prior to these roles, they were the Executive Director of the Jakarta Office from October 2013 to July 2015 and started their career at the Japan National Tourism Organization as a Senior Assistant Manager from October 2004 to September 2013.

Additionally, Katsuhisa has worked as a Consultant at The World Bank's Environment Department from September 2003 to August 2004. Katsuhisa started their career at the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) as an Assistant Manager in 1993 and later became the Deputy Director of the Saudi Arabia Office, a position they held until 2002.

Katsuhisa Ishizaki has a diverse education history. From 2002 to 2004, they attended The George Washington University School of Business, where they pursued a Master of Tourism Administration with a specialization in Destination Management. Prior to that, from 1988 to 1993, they studied at Doshisha University and earned a BA in Journalism/Communication. Additionally, in 1991 and 1992, they spent a year at Colorado Mesa University, where they obtained an AA degree in Journalism/Communication.
