Francesco Perlini has a diverse and extensive work experience. Francesco began their career as an intern at the United Nations in 2003. Francesco then joined Siniscalco&Partners as a Chartered Accountant & Statutory Auditor from 2004 to 2008. Francesco then worked at UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, as a Finance Associate from 2008 to 2011, where they were responsible for coordinating accounts and providing training on financial procedures. From 2011 to 2012, they worked as a Grants Auditor at the EIT European Institute for Innovation and Technology.

In 2012, Perlini joined the World Trade Organization as an Internal Auditor, a role they held until 2016. In this position, they conducted internal audits and ensured compliance with financial regulations. From 2016 to 2018, they served as a Senior Finance Officer at the WTO's Financial Management Services division, where they reviewed internal accounting controls and implemented new IT projects.

In 2018, Perlini was promoted to Chief of Financial Operations at the World Trade Organization. Francesco Perlini pursued a Master in Development Practice degree in Sustainability Studies from Harvard Extension School from 2019 to 2021. Prior to that, in 2003-2004, they obtained a CEMS Master in International Management Degree from CEMS - The Global Alliance in Management Education. In 1998-2002, they completed a Master of Science (MS) in Business Administration and Management from Università Bocconi. In 2001, they participated in an exchange program focused on European Union Policy at SGH Warsaw School of Economics.

In addition to their formal education, Francesco Perlini has obtained several certifications. Francesco obtained certification as an Environmental Policy and International Development Professional from Harvard University in January 2020.
