Martin Goyette is a seasoned legal professional with extensive experience in international trade and government procurement. Currently serving as a Counsellor in both the Government Procurement and Competition Policy Group and the Office of the Legal Counsel at the World Trade Organization since February 2023, Goyette previously held positions as Acting Senior Counsel/Team Leader and Counsel at the Secretariat of the Canadian International Trade Tribunal from February 2018 to February 2023. Prior experience includes roles at the World Trade Organization as a Counsellor and Legal Affairs Officer in the Rules Division from October 2006 to January 2018, as well as an Attorney and International Lawyer at WilmerHale from February 2002 to October 2006. Early career highlights include serving as a Teaching and Research Assistant focused on International Trade at Harvard Law School and a Law Clerk to Chief Justice Lamer at the Supreme Court of Canada. Goyette holds an LL.M. and was a Visiting Researcher at Harvard Law School, along with Bachelor's degrees in Political Science and Law from the University of Ottawa.
