Director Of Strategy & Systems: Disaster Management at World Vision International

Amos Doornbos has a diverse and extensive work experience in the humanitarian and social enterprise sectors. Amos started their career with World Vision in 2004, where they held various roles including Emergency Programme Coordinator and Programme Officer. During their time at World Vision, they successfully led strategic initiatives and managed multi-million dollar budgets.

In 2011, Amos founded Faces of Another World, a consultancy firm that aimed to improve organizational capacity and efficiency in disaster management, technology, and innovation projects. Amos also provided coaching and mentoring services in the humanitarian aid and social enterprise fields.

Amos further demonstrated their entrepreneurial skills by founding Faces Digital in 2015, a company focused on digital solutions. Amos later became a board member of Impact Hub Kings Cross, a non-profit organization, and Walk for Trees Charity.

In 2013, they launched Give Aid Direct, a platform that enables person-to-person giving and empowers individuals affected by disasters and chronic poverty to make decisions for themselves and their families.

Amos joined World Vision again in 2016 as the Director of Strategy & Systems: Disaster Management. In this role, they played a crucial part in transforming the organization into a digital humanitarian organization and actively contributed to various digital identity initiatives.

Most recently, they worked as the CCD Data lead at CCD Network in 2019.

Throughout their career, Amos Doornbos has demonstrated strong leadership and innovation skills, making significant contributions in the field of disaster management and humanitarian aid.

Amos Doornbos has a strong educational background. Amos obtained a BA in Theology from Dordt University from 1995 to 1998. Later, they pursued a Certificate in International Project Management from Humber College, completing it in 2004. Most recently, between 2009 and 2012, Amos attended the University of Warwick - Warwick Business School, earning an MBA degree in Business Administration and Management. In addition, they obtained a certification in AI Ethics for Nonprofits from NetHope in August 2020.
