Joel Mercado

Joel Mercado, MPH, currently serves as a Senior Technical Advisor for Social and Behavior Change at World Vision USA since November 2021. Previously, Joel Mercado held various positions at Food for the Hungry, Inc. from May 2006 to November 2021, including Business Development Manager and Resource Development Officer. Joel Mercado's extensive experience includes managing multimillion-dollar grants, developing institutional fundraising strategies across Africa, Asia, and Latin America, and training over 250 staff members in program design, monitoring, evaluation, and Social and Behavioral Change techniques. Additionally, Joel Mercado worked as a Qualitative Research Consultant at the UNC Center for Health Promotion and Disease Prevention and as a Formative Research Consultant at Feed the Children. Joel Mercado holds a Master of Public Health degree in Health Behavior from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
