EMILY T. ROWAN recently retired from professional life as a psychotherapist, allowing her time to concentrate on other passions. Now that both her children and their families live close by in Washington, DC, she looks forward to being an active participant in their lives. In addition, she plans to return to immersing herself in gardening and painting the natural world. Rowan was a professional botanical artist in earlier years and will now have time to pick this up again. In addition, Rowan and her husband, Jim, will have time to travel in the US and internationally, including precious wilderness experiences. She learned her passion for these experiences as well as for the protection of natural ecosystems at the knees of her parents, Russell and Aileen Train.
