Gerald Butts

Gerald Butts is a seasoned executive and consultant with extensive experience in government and environmental sectors. Currently serving as a Board Member at the World Wildlife Fund since November 2022, Vice Chairman at Eurasia Group since January 2020, and Principal at New Climate Consulting Group since May 2019, Butts has held significant roles including Principal Secretary in the Office of the Prime Minister of Canada from November 2015 to February 2019. Previous positions include President and CEO of WWF-Canada from September 2008 to October 2012, and Principal Secretary to the Premier in the Government of Ontario from November 1999 to August 2008. Butts also served as a Governor and Member of the Executive Committee at McGill University from January 2010 to October 2015. Educational credentials include a BA and MA in English and Theology from McGill University, completed between 1989 and 1995.
