SMITA PROTO was born and raised on the equator, in the foothills of Mt. Kenya, which instilled in her a love of wildlife at an early age. Her passions center around international travel and cultural photography. Having lived or traveled in more than 60 countries, her body of work is ever growing and continues to be featured in Manhattan galleries. Proto spent her career as a graphic designer and holds a BFA from Montclair State University. She currently resides in Manhattan with her husband, Joe, and enjoys testing his limits on their exotic international adventures.
