Jia Yu Aw

Jia Yu Aw has a diverse work experience in the field of quantitative finance. They started their career as a Teaching Assistant at Singapore Management University in 2016, assisting in the teaching of STAT151. In 2017, Jia Yu Aw interned at the Monetary Authority of Singapore, conducting research on dark pools, orderbook research, and market efficiency of illiquid assets. They also served as a Teaching Assistant at Singapore Management University, working on a project to develop teaching materials for quantitative finance students. In 2018, Jia Yu Aw had internships at both the Monetary Authority of Singapore and BlackRock. They later joined WorldQuant as a Quantitative Researcher in 2019, eventually progressing to the role of Senior Quantitative Researcher and then Vice President of Quantitative Research. Overall, Jia Yu Aw has gained experience in research, teaching, and internships in the finance industry.

Jia Yu Aw completed a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management with a major in Quantitative Finance at Singapore Management University from 2015 to 2019. In 2020, Jia Yu enrolled in a Coursera Programme offered by DeepLearning.Ai, focusing on Deep Learning. That same year, they pursued a Specialization in Mathematics for Machine Learning at Imperial College London.

Before attending Singapore Management University, Jia Yu studied at London School of Business and Finance LSBF from 2014 to 2016, where they pursued the ACCA degree in Accounting. Prior to that, Jia Yu completed their high school education at Nanyang Junior College in 2012, obtaining an A Level certificate in several subjects including H2 Mathematics, H2 Physics, H2 Chemistry, and H2 Economics.

In terms of additional certifications, Jia Yu obtained various certifications from Coursera and SoloLearn. These include Convolutional Neural Networks (June 2021), Improving Deep Neural Networks: Hyperparameter tuning, Regularization and Optimization, Neural Networks and Deep Learning, and Structuring Machine Learning Projects (all obtained in December 2020). Additionally, Jia Yu completed the Mathematics for Machine Learning Specialization in November 2020 and the C++ Tutorial Course from SoloLearn in March 2019.
