Caleb McGary has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of cybersecurity. Caleb began their career at Boeing in 2007, where they participated in the Information Systems Career Foundation Program. Caleb later served as a Cyber Security Assessor and a Red Team Penetration Tester at Boeing until 2014.
In 2013, Caleb joined Saudi Aramco as a Senior Security Engineer before returning to Boeing in 2014 as a Senior Penetration Tester. Caleb then moved on to Microsoft in 2016, where they worked as a Security Software Engineer II, involved in designing and leading red teams for Windows Devices Group.
After their time at Microsoft, Caleb joined Salesforce in 2017 as a Product Security Lead. In 2018, they became a Senior Security Engineer at Microsoft within the Red Team located in COSINE, responsible for planning and leading Red and Purple team engagements, as well as developing internal tools.
In 2021, Caleb transitioned to Snowflake, where they served as a Principal Security Engineer. Currently, they are a Senior Staff Security Engineer at Woven by Toyota, supporting automotive software development and responsible for the security architecture of embedded in-car systems.
Throughout their career, Caleb has demonstrated their expertise in various aspects of cybersecurity, including exploit development, adversary emulation, and providing security guidance.
Caleb McGary obtained their Master's Degree in Computer and Information Systems Security/Information Assurance from Capella University in 2012. Prior to that, they earned their Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology from Brigham Young University - Idaho, graduating in 2006.
In addition to their formal education, Caleb McGary has acquired several certifications. Caleb obtained the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification from (ISC)² in October 2011. Caleb McGary has also earned multiple certifications from GIAC Certifications, including the GIAC Certified Penetration Tester (GPEN) in November 2012, the GIAC Web Application Penetration Tester (GWAPT) in February 2013, the GIAC Reverse Engineering Malware (GREM) in July 2013, the GIAC Exploit Researcher and Advanced Penetration Tester (GXPN) in April 2013, the GIAC Certified Perimeter Protection Analyst (GPPA) in October 2015, the GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH) in October 2019, and the GIAC Python Coder (GPYC) in December 2019. Furthermore, Caleb McGary obtained the GIAC Assessing and Auditing Wireless Networks (GAWN) certification from GIAC Certifications in May 2020. Caleb also holds the Certified Ethical Hacker certification from EC-Council, which they obtained in March 2013.
