Software Engineer at Woven Planet Holdings

Chen Bao's work experience begins with their current position as a Software Engineer at Woven by Toyota, starting in May 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Toyota Research Institute from March 2019 to May 2022, first as a Systems Integration Engineer and later as a Software Engineer in the Vehicle Software Platform-Safety, Automated Driving role. At Toyota Research Institute, Chen Bao led safety case analysis, defined Operational Design Domain (ODD), conducted safety control system analysis, and provided safety driver operational guidance. They also converted a vehicle Drive-by-Wire system using dSPACE real-time hardware and software and developed diagnostic software tools for autonomous driving fleet integration.

Before Toyota Research Institute, Chen Bao worked as a System Engineer in Autonomous Driving at SF Motors Inc from May 2017 to March 2019. Additionally, they served as the Mechanical Design Team Leader at https://tabladevices.com/ from August 2016 to May 2017. Chen Bao also gained experience in the field of Autonomous Driving through their work as a Localization of Autonomous Driving Vehicles researcher at UC Berkeley Model Predictive Control Lab from August 2016 to May 2017.

Lastly, Chen Bao was involved in the EcoCAR3 Control Team at Colorado State University from April 2015 to May 2016.

Chen Bao earned a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Colorado State University in 2016. After that, Chen Bao pursued a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from UC Berkeley College of Engineering, completing it in 2017. In addition to their degrees, Chen Bao obtained a certification in Fundamentals of Engineering from the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies in June 2016.
