Senior Engineering Manager, Simulation And Validation at Woven Planet Holdings

Daniel Walker has a diverse work experience spanning over 15 years. Daniel is currently working as a Senior Engineering Manager, Virtual Validation at Woven Planet Holdings. Prior to that, they worked at Lyft as a Staff Systems Engineer and Staff ICM in the Level 5, Self-Driving Division, focusing on System Validation. Before Lyft, Daniel was a Senior Engineer and Staff Engineer at Planet. Daniel also held roles at Google as a Hardware Engineer, Senior Hardware Engineer, and Technical Lead Manager. Daniel's career started at Skybox Imaging as a Senior Engineer. Daniel has a strong academic background, having completed a Ph.D. research at Stanford University in the Telerobotics Laboratory and Biorobotics Laboratory, with a focus on control systems. At Stanford, they also served as a Mechatronics Student and Coach in the Smart Product Design Laboratory, coaching students through projects. Additionally, Daniel co-owned Innova Science and worked as an Undergraduate and Graduate Researcher at Los Alamos National Laboratory, where they worked on projects related to reduced order models and smart materials.

Daniel Walker received their Bachelor of Science in Engineering (B.S.E.) degree in Mechanical Engineering and Physics from Vanderbilt University in 2006. Daniel then attended Stanford University, where they earned their Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Mechanical Engineering from 2006 to 2008. Daniel continued their education at Stanford University, completing their Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from 2008 to 2013.
