Shintaro Shiba has a strong and diverse work experience. Shintaro started their career as a Research Engineer Intern at NTT Media Intelligence Laboratories, Inc. in 2015, where they focused on Human Speech Recognition using Deep Neural Networks and received an outstanding presentation award. In 2016, Shintaro worked as a Technology Consultant Intern at Arthur D. Little, followed by a Researcher/Software Engineer Intern position at Recruit Institute of Technology (US), where they developed a chatbot application and implemented learning-to-rank algorithms. Shintaro also had a Research Engineer Intern role at Preferred Networks, Inc., where they worked on solving a self-driving related problem using deep Q network. Furthermore, they worked as a Software Engineer at トヨタ自動車株式会社, where they were involved in the development of a recognition system for autonomous driving using camera and Lidar with machine learning. Lastly, Shintaro joined Woven Planet Holdings in 2019 as a Software Engineer, responsible for MLOps & Data pipeline for production-scale machine learning of Toyota's worldwide vehicles. Shintaro has consistently demonstrated their skills and expertise in various technological areas throughout their career.
Shintaro Shiba has pursued a high level of education within the field of Electrical and Electronics Engineering. Shintaro is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree at Technische Universität Berlin, which they started in 2021 and is expected to complete in 2023. Prior to this, they also pursued a PhD degree in the same field at Keio University from 2019 to 2023.
In addition to their doctoral studies, Shintaro Shiba holds a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Neuroscience, which they obtained from The University of Tokyo in the years 2015 to 2017. Furthermore, they completed their undergraduate studies at The University of Tokyo, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Neuroscience from 2011 to 2015.
Shintaro Shiba has also obtained several additional certifications to further enhance their skills and knowledge. Shintaro is a Licensed Scrum Master, certified by Scrum Inc. in 2019. Additionally, they hold the certification of "FDC Information Technology Engineer" obtained from the Information-technology Promotion Agency, Japan in June 2015. Moreover, they have also achieved a certification in "Practical Fluent Language Skills Examination Level 3" from the Public Interest Incorporated Foundation Language Education and Support Society in May 2011.
