Yuan-Ping Chen started their career as a Software Engineering Intern at Interactions LLC, focused on speech and language technology. During their internship in 2017, they developed an end-to-end training approach to optimize acoustic and text models for customer intent determination. Yuan-Ping also open sourced character-based Convolutional Neural Networks for text classification and published a research paper in a top conference for natural language understanding.

Before their internship, Yuan-Ping Chen worked as a Full-Time Research Assistant at Academia Sinica, Taiwan from September 2014 to July 2016. In this role, they developed an online music service for generating guitar tab sheet music, built SVM classifiers for guitar technique detection, and created RESTful APIs with Django.

Yuan-Ping Chen has gained experience in various software engineering roles, focusing on areas such as voice assistant development, workflow management platforms, computer vision algorithms, natural language understanding, and music information retrieval.

Yuan-Ping Chen holds a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Computer Science from the University of California, Santa Cruz. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Electrophysics from National Chiao Tung University.
