Philips started their career as a Service Engineer at IPA PVT LTD, BANGALORE. Philips then moved to Johnson Controls-Hitachi Air Conditioning India Limited as a Customer Services Officer. After two years, they were promoted to Team Leader Projects at Zamil Air Conditioners. In 2006, they joined Trane as a Project Manager.
In 2008, Philips moved back to Johnson Controls as an Operations Manager. Philips was promoted to Regional Operations Manager - ESG in 2013 and Regional Manager Warranty and Quality Management in 2017. Philips left Johnson Controls in November 2019 to join WRENCH Solutions (P) Ltd as Vice President - Middle East.
Philips Tharakan has a Bachelor of Engineering from the University of Mysore.
