Prakash Doraiswamy has a diverse work experience in the field of air quality and environmental assessment. Prakash began their career as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of Tennessee, where they gained extensive experience in mobile source emission inventory development and photochemical modeling of ozone and PM2.5. Prakash then worked as a Post Doctoral Research Associate at the Desert Research Institute, managing projects funded by the California Air Resources Board and USEPA, and conducting comprehensive reviews of PM2.5 measurement methods. Prakash then joined the University at Albany as a Research Scientist and later as a Post Doctoral Associate, where they implemented and maintained an ensemble air quality forecasting system and operated a real-time air quality forecasting project. Prakash then transitioned to RTI International, where they worked as a Research Environmental Scientist and eventually became a Principal Air Quality Scientist. In this role, they led projects on integrated air quality assessment and human health impacts, utilizing models, advanced aerosol measurements, low-cost sensors, and satellite data. Prakash's most recent position is with WRI India as the Director of Air Quality.

Prakash Doraiswamy holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, which they obtained between 1999 and 2004. Prior to that, they earned a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Environmental Engineering from Tennessee Technological University from 1997 to 1999. Prakash's educational journey began with a Bachelor of Technology (B. Tech) in Chemical Engineering from Anna University, where they studied from 1993 to 1997.
