Luke Dawson

Luke Dawson has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Luke is currently working as a Senior Accountant at Wright Service Corp. since January 2023. Prior to this, Luke worked as a Treasurer at Backwater Legacies Inc. from June 2009 onwards. At Backwater Legacies, they facilitated learning activities, mentored youth, and gained leadership and communication skills.

Luke also worked as a Senior Staff Accountant at Hogan - Hansen, A Professional Corporation from October 2021 to January 2023. Before that, they held the position of Staff Accountant at McGowen Hurst Clark Smith from August 2019 to July 2021. At McGowen Hurst Clark Smith, Luke's responsibilities included tax preparation, client communication, and year-end planning.

During their time at Iowa State University - Ivy College of Business from January 2019 to May 2019, Luke worked as a Graduate Assistant. Luke led a classroom, prepared tax returns, provided feedback to clients, and mentored students on income tax returns.

Luke gained valuable experience as an Accounting Intern at Archer Daniels Midland Company from May 2018 to August 2018. Luke performed month-end valuation tasks, presented project proposals, and completed account analysis.

In addition, Luke held leadership roles as the President of Multicultural Business Network from October 2015 to May 2018, where they organized events and engaged in discussions related to the network. Luke also served as a Scholar, Peer Mentor, Teaching Assistant, and Volunteer at Multicultural Vision Program from August 2014 to May 2018, where they mentored students and facilitated classroom discussions on social and environmental issues.

Furthermore, Luke has prior experience as a Warehouse Employee at Doll Distributing, LLC from May 2014 to January 2018, where they maintained inventory output and responded to authority requests. Lastly, they worked as a Tax Intern at Aon in June 2017 and gained further tax-related experience.

Luke Dawson pursued a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from Iowa State University - Ivy College of Business, from 2014 to 2018. Luke further advanced their education by obtaining a Master's Degree in Accounting from the same institution, specifically the Ivy College of Business, between 2018 and 2019.
