Sophie Ellinghouse

Sophie Ellinghouse has a diverse work experience in the legal field. Sophie most recently served as the Vice President, General Counsel & Corporate Secretary at the Western States Petroleum Association, starting in December 2021. Prior to that, they held the position of Director, California Policy at the same company from October to December 2021. Before joining the Western States Petroleum Association, Sophie worked as an Associate Counsel from March 2018 to October 2021. Sophie also gained experience as an Associate Attorney at Mitchell Chadwick LLP from December 2015 to March 2018. Sophie started their legal career as a Law Clerk at Fredericks Peebles & Morgan from May 2014 to November 2015, and as a Law Clerk at Somach Simmons & Dunn from January to May 2014. Additionally, they gained valuable experience as a Legal Extern at the California Air Resources Board from September to December 2013, and as a Legal Intern at the California Energy Commission from June to August 2013.

Sophie Ellinghouse completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Political Science & International Relations at the University of California, Davis from 2008 to 2012. Sophie then pursued their Doctor of Law (J.D.) at the University of California, Davis - School of Law from 2012 to 2015. In 2021, they obtained a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Workplace Certificate from USF Corporate Training and Professional Education.
