Emily Brinkman is a Public Health Program Specialist at WSU Community Engagement Institute since December 2022, bringing extensive experience in nutrition and public health. Previously, Brinkman served as a WIC Nutritionist and Breastfeeding Coordinator at the Kansas Department of Health and Environment from July 2020 to December 2022, where responsibilities included providing guidance and support for the Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children. Brinkman's role as a Registered Dietitian Specialist at the Kansas State Department of Education from March 2011 to July 2020 involved grant writing and promoting healthy environments in schools and childcare. Earlier experience includes serving as a Nutrition Care Manager at Compass Group and an R&D Technologist at Kerry Ingredients. Brinkman holds a Master of Public Health in Health Promotion and Maternal Child Health from the University of Nebraska Medical Center and two bachelor's degrees in Dietetics and Public Health Nutrition and Biology from Kansas State University.
