Stephen Michael Co has a diverse work experience, beginning with an internship at Hybridigm Consulting Inc. in 2008. Stephen Michael then became an Associate Consultant at the same company in 2009. In 2011, they were a Research Associate at the AIM Zuellig Center for Asian Business Transformation. From 2012 to 2013, they were a Graduate Student at the University of Cambridge, where they studied life science business. During this time, they also had an internship at Arecor Limited. In 2013, they founded and became the CEO of Selula Hayagham Corporation, a local craft brewery and manufacturer of craft beverages. Stephen Michael then became a Lecturer at Ateneo de Manila University in 2014 and a Visiting Fellow at the Rutgers Food Innovation Center in 2018. Most recently, in 2019, they became the Co-Founder and CEO of WTH Foods, a plant-based meat company for the ASEAN market.

Stephen Michael Co has an extensive education history. Stephen Michael obtained a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Bioscience Enterprise from the University of Cambridge in 2013, and was also a Chevening Awards recipient in the same year. Stephen Michael earned a Masters in Technology Management from the University of the Philippines in 2012, and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Ateneo de Manila University in 2009. Stephen Michael's primary education was completed at Anglo-Chinese School (Independent) between 2001 and 2004. Additionally, they hold a Plant-Based Nutrition Certificate from the T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies, obtained in July 2021, and an HACCP certification from the Rutgers Food Innovation Center.
