Mary Elizabeth Mathyer

Mary Elizabeth Mathyer has a diverse work experience. Mary Elizabeth began their career in 2009 as an Intern at Sideshow Theatre Company. Mary Elizabeth then worked as a Tour Guide at Kalamazoo College in 2011, and also held a Facilitator 1 position at the Museum of Science and Industry, Chicago in the same year. In 2013, Mathyer was an REU Intern at Bigelow Laboratory for Ocean Sciences, where they analyzed genomic data of Nitrospina sp. bacteria and their research was published in Science. From 2014-2020, Mathyer held various roles at Washington University in St. Louis, including Postdoctoral Researcher and PhD Candidate in Molecular Genetics and Genomics. Most recently, they have been a Senior Scientist and Scientist NK Research at Wugen since 2020.

Mary Elizabeth Mathyer attended Kalamazoo College from 2010 to 2014, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Biology and Theatre Arts. Mary Elizabeth then participated in a Study Abroad program at University of Nairobi from 2012 to 2013. Finally, they earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Molecular Genetics and Genomics from Washington University in St. Louis from 2014 to 2019.
