Paul Hunton has extensive experience in the media industry. Paul started their career as a Producer at Public Broadcasting Service in 2001 and worked there until 2006. During this time, they gained experience in content creation and production. Following that, they joined 20th Century Fox as a Production Assistant in 2006. Shortly after, in the same year, they started their own production company called A/V Productions, where they produced award-winning documentaries and short films, as well as created industrial videos for non-profit organizations. In 2011, Hunton returned to Public Broadcasting Service, this time as a Production Director. Paul oversaw content strategy and creation, launched new programs, and won Emmy awards for documentary filmmaking and arts/culture programming. In 2012, they joined Texas Tech University as the General Manager of Texas Tech Public Media. Hunton led the acquisition and expansion of the company through a merger with El Paso PBS, creating a network of public media organizations serving a large area in Texas. Additionally, they served as an Adjunct Professor at Texas Tech University from 2012 to 2022. Most recently, in 2022, they became the President of North Carolina Public Radio-WUNC. Overall, Paul Hunton has demonstrated their leadership, expertise, and passion for the media industry throughout their career.
Paul Hunton has a Master of Arts degree in Mass Communication/Media Studies from Texas Tech University. Paul also holds a Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Production, Film, and Television from Eastern New Mexico University.
