Mary Shedden is a seasoned journalist with extensive experience in news management and reporting. Serving as the News Director at WUSF Public Broadcasting since November 2013, Mary oversees newsroom operations and strategic growth, while previously managing a health news collaboration as the Health News Florida Editor and working as a multimedia reporter. Prior to WUSF, Mary held positions including Adjunct Professor at the University of South Florida St. Petersburg and Senior Health Reporter at The Tampa Tribune, where responsibilities included coordinating health-related stories. Additional experience includes contributing to WFLA TV, serving as an Education Reporter at Florida Today, and various roles at The Gainesville Sun and The Independent Florida Alligator. Mary holds a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from the University of Florida.
