Geert Sanders currently serves as the managing director of WVI, a position held since May 2000. Prior to this role, Geert was a policy advisor and director at WIH-WIER-WITAB from September 1996 to April 2000. Geert's academic credentials include a Master's degree in Advanced European Studies (Economics) from the College of Europe (1983-1984) and a Master's degree in Applied Economic Sciences from the University of Antwerp (1979-1983), with early education completed at Onze-Lieve-Vrouwecollege Oostende (1973-1979).
