Jennie Mallela currently serves as Governor of WWF-Australia and as a researcher, lecturer, and consultant in coastal ecology and environmental science at The Australian National University. With a strong background in marine research and conservation, Jennie has held various roles including Scientist, Consultant, and Researcher at multiple organizations, focusing on bushfire-threatened species and marine ecosystems. Previous positions include a Postdoctoral Coral Reef Ecologist at the University of the West Indies, Program Coordinator with the British Trust for Conservation Volunteers, and Marine Scientist in Tanzania. Jennie holds a PhD in Coral Reef Development from The Manchester Metropolitan University, an MSc in Marine Resource Management from Heriot-Watt University, and a BSc (Hons) in Environmental Bio-geo Science from the University of Leeds.
