James Jooyoung Lee

Visual Effects Supervisor / Head of 2D at Wylie Co.

James Jooyoung Lee has a diverse work experience in the field of visual effects and 3D/VFX supervision. James Jooyoung began their career as a CG Generalist at Cell Design Studio in 2000 and then worked as a 3D Modeler at VIPET Co. Ltd from 2001 to 2003. From 2007 to 2008, they served as a Lead 3D Artist at REDDUCK, Inc. In 2010, they worked as a Generalist at Laika. From 2011 to 2013, they were a 3D/VFX Supervisor at Stopp Inc. James Jooyoung then joined Greenhaus GFX in 2014 as a 3D/VFX Supervisor, responsible for creating concepts and managing post-production projects. James Jooyoung also worked at Digital Sandbox, LLC as a Nuke Compositor in 2016, and at Clean-Pixels as a VFX Supervisor and freelance compositing artist from 2016 to 2018. In 2017, they worked at The Playtone Company as a Previs Artist and shot creator, and at Wylie Co. as a Compositing Supervisor from 2017 to 2018. James Jooyoung later served as a Sequence Supervisor and Lead Compositor at Blur's 2nd office for Terminator 6 in 2019 and as a Compositing Supervisor at Wylie Co. for various projects including Airplane Mode, Sky Hunter, Why Don't We - Hooked, Orville, Sister, and Counterpart. Currently, they hold the position of Visual Effects Supervisor and Head of 2D at Wylie Co., working on projects such as The Last of Us (TV series) and SHE-HULK: Attorney at Law.

James Jooyoung Lee pursued their education in the field of art and design, with a particular focus on computer animation and furniture & product design. From 2005 to 2010, they attended Ringling College of Art and Design, earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree in Computer Animation. In 2009, they obtained a certification in Renderman from Escape Studio. Prior to that, from 1997 to 2004, they studied at Hongik University, where they earned another BFA degree, this time in Furniture & Product Design.
