Greg Wilson has extensive work experience in the field of data science and machine learning. Greg is currently serving as the Head of Data Science and Machine Learning at Wyman Gordon since January 2023. Before that, they held the same position at PCC Metals Group from December 2021, where they supported TIMET and Special Metals Corporation in developing the digital thread for aerospace metals manufacturing. At PCC Metals Group, they implemented an internal "data apps" server and established modern data warehouse practices on an Azure and Databricks stack. Greg also developed and deployed image processing code and applied operations research techniques.
Prior to their role at PCC Metals Group, Greg worked at GE Aviation from 2012 to 2021, where they held various positions including Principal Engineer in Materials Analytics and Modeling. Greg also served as a Senior Engineer in Composite Materials Behavior and Lead Engineer in non-metallic materials behavior.
Before joining GE Aviation, Greg worked as a PhD Researcher at Delft University of Technology from September 2009 to July 2012. Greg also gained work experience as an Aerospace Structural Engineer at Alcoa from 2006 to 2009.
Greg's earlier work experience includes serving as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Purdue University and as a Product Design and Analysis Intern at Alcoa in 2005.
Greg Wilson completed their Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering at Purdue University from 2002 to 2006. Greg then pursued a Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering from Purdue University, which they earned from 2006 to 2007. Greg Wilson further advanced their education by completing a Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering at Delft University of Technology from 2007 to 2011.
