Hajnalka Hartl

Hajnalka Hartl has a strong background in medicinal chemistry and small molecule design and synthesis. They have worked at X-Chem, Inc. since 2015, starting as a Consultant and progressing to Principal Research Associate and Research Scientist. In their current role as a Senior Research Scientist, they specialize in DNA-encoded library design and on-DNA chemistry development and synthesis. They have experience working on multidisciplinary project teams and are skilled at chemical and biological data analysis and presentation. Prior to X-Chem, Inc., Hajnalka worked at AstraZeneca for over a decade, initially as an Associate Scientist and then as a Scientist. At AstraZeneca, they utilized biological and pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic data to aid in new target design, designed and synthesized lead compounds, optimized physical properties and synthetic routes, and managed the work of Contract Research Organizations. They also have co-authored peer-reviewed journal articles.

Hajnalka Hartl attended Temple University from 2001 to 2004 and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry. Hajnalka then pursued a Master of Science degree in Chemistry from Northeastern University, completing their studies from 2007 to 2010. Following this, they enrolled at the University of Massachusetts Lowell and earned a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree specializing in Epidemiology, which concluded in 2019. Currently, they are pursuing a Doctor of Science degree in Public Health, with a focus on Epidemiology, at the University of Massachusetts Lowell, which started in 2020 and is expected to finish in 2024.
