Nami W. has over 11 years of work experience. Nami began their career in 2012 as a Biological Research Technician II at Oregon State University in the Mallory-Smith and Hulting Lab, where they were responsible for laboratory support functions such as preparing stock solutions and media, updating inventory system, general housekeeping including sterilization of tools and disposal of hazardous materials. Nami also conducted routine bench works such as DNA extraction, PCR, gel electrophoresis, molecular cloning, and sample preparations for sequencing, as well as assisted establishment, maintenance, and data collection of field, greenhouse, and lab experiments. In 2019, Nami moved to Pairwise where they held two roles: Research Associate, Delivery Technology and Research Associate, Cell Biology. In their role as Research Associate, Delivery Technology, they elaborated methods for transgene-free delivery of CRISPR reagents in plants and coordinated experiments to support IP and trait developments. As Research Associate, Cell Biology, they evaluated gene-editing tool efficacy in various plant species, prepared NGS libraries for in-house MiSeq run, and had research focus areas including plant transformation, protoplast transient assays, tissue culture, molecular biology, and mammalian cell screening systems (BSL2). In 2023, Nami joined X-Vax Technology, Inc. as Project Manager, PMO.

Nami W. graduated from Oregon State University in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology (Pre-Med). Nami then returned to Oregon State University in 2016 and graduated in 2019 with a Master of Science in Crop Science. In March 2022, they obtained a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute.
