Zihang Dai

Zihang Dai is a Technical Staff member at xAI since July 2023, having previously held multiple roles at Google, including Research Scientist and Staff Research Scientist since November 2020, and Student Researcher from February 2019 to May 2020, with a focus on generalized language pretraining and efficient language processing. Prior experience includes internships at MILA (University of Montreal) where research involved calibrating Energy-based Generative Adversarial Networks, and at Baidu, where work centered on deep learning for NLP and question answering. Zihang's early career included roles as an Investment Analyst Intern at NetEase Capital, as well as internships at Roland Berger Strategy Consultants and Accenture, focusing on strategic consulting and sales transformation projects. Zihang obtained a PhD and an M.S. in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University and a BBA from Tsinghua University, complemented by a brief period at the Rotterdam School of Management.
