Alex Preciado's work experience includes a position as the Manager of Quantum Software Development at Xanadu starting in June 2023. Prior to that, they worked as a Course Instructor for the MMAI & MBAN Programs at the Schulich School of Business - York University starting in September 2022.
From August 2021 to May 2023, Alex was the Manager of Machine Learning & Data Engineering at HelloFresh. Prior to their data science roles, Alex worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Perimeter Institute from November 2016 to January 2019. Alex developed a parameter estimation framework and models for black hole analysis. Alex also parallelized and optimized the execution time of the framework.
In the same time frame, Alex also worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher for the Event Horizon Telescope (EHT) Collaboration, where they contributed to capturing the first-ever image of a black hole. Alex developed parametrized models, coded tools for data generation, and worked with an international collaboration of researchers.
Alex started their career teaching physics at Colegio Britanico from April 2011 to June 2013, where they trained students for physics competitions and taught various levels of physics courses. Alex also worked as an English Teacher at HARMON HALL from December 2004 to June 2008, teaching basic, intermediate, and advanced English courses.
Alex Preciado completed their education in a chronological manner. They obtained an Engineer's Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Universidad de Guanajuato, attending from 2002 to 2008. They then pursued a Master's Degree in Physics from the same university, studying from 2008 to 2010. Following this, Alex obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Physics from Universidad de Guanajuato, completing their studies from 2010 to 2016. In addition to their academic degrees, Alex has also obtained additional certifications. They completed courses in "Learning Cloud Computing: Core Concepts" and "Python Data Structures: Stacks, Queues, and Deques" from LinkedIn in May 2019. They also have a certification for a Master's Degree in Physics from World Education Services, obtained in June 2010.
