Anthony Hayes

Anthony Hayes has diverse work experience in roles related to quantum technology, software engineering, data science, and research. Anthony most recently worked as a Quantum Software Engineer at Xanadu since August 2021. Prior to that, they were an Independent Contractor for the same company from November 2020 to August 2021.

Before joining Xanadu, Anthony worked as a Data Scientist at iDAS Global from March 2020 to September 2020. Anthony also served as a Software Engineer at Omni Digital from September 2019 to March 2020.

Anthony's earlier experience includes their role as a Backend Software Developer and Researcher at Equilibrium Risk Advisory (ERA) from October 2018 to September 2019. Here, they focused on backend development and algorithm design for FinTech software. Anthony also remotely collaborated with a team based in London.

Additionally, Anthony worked as a Doctoral Researcher at the University of Sussex from September 2014 to August 2018. Their research in quantum technology involved applied statistics, information theory, linear algebra, and numerical analytics using MATLAB and Python. During this time, they also held the position of Associate Tutor, where they conducted interactive workshops, provided feedback to students, and communicated complex concepts effectively.

Anthony gained research and collaboration experience as a Research and Development Intern at Nippon Telegraph & Telephone from February 2017 to May 2017. Anthony led successful collaborations with international quantum technology groups and contributed expertise in applied mathematics, statistics, scripting, data analysis, and technical writing.

Furthermore, Anthony secured funding from EPSRC to conduct research in quantum information technologies at the University of Leeds in 2013. Their role involved developing research skills and engaging in collaborative discussions.

Their work experience also includes an internship as an Ogden Trust "Teach Physics" Intern at Rushey Mead Academy in 2012.

Anthony Hayes completed their education with a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD degree in Quantum Enhanced Metrology from the University of Sussex in the years 2014 to 2018. Prior to that, they obtained an MPhys, BSc degree in Theoretical and Mathematical Physics from the University of Leeds, where they studied from 2010 to 2014. In addition to their academic achievements, they also obtained certifications in "Applying Machine Learning and AI Services on AWS" and "Fundamentals of AWS" from Cloud Academy, Inc. in August and July of 2019, respectively.
