Josh Izaac has a diverse work experience. Josh started their career as a Subject Specialist Tutor for Tutoring Australasia, where they provided high school tutoring in mathematics, biology, chemistry, and physics. Josh collaborated with team members to share knowledge and information for superior educational outcomes.

Josh then worked as an Academic Tutor at The University of Western Australia, where they tutored third-year and honors level physics students. Josh also presented guest lectures and provided support in FORTRAN and UNIX. Josh created detailed solution guides for quantum computation and applied mathematics units, using computational tools like Mathematica.

After that, they worked as a Freelance Science Writer for Australian Geographic and Science Magazine. As a writer, they contributed articles on various scientific topics.

Josh's most recent role was at Xanadu, where they held multiple positions. Josh started as a Theoretical Physicist, conducting research and developing software across the Xanadu software stack. Josh had significant contributions, including architecting a cloud platform to interface with photonic hardware, creating software libraries for quantum optics simulation, hardware-driven quantum machine learning, designing a quantum photonic programming language, and developing cutting-edge algorithms to simulate quantum systems.

Later, Josh became the Head of Quantum Software at Xanadu, where they led quantum software development initiatives. Currently, they hold the position of Director of Product at Xanadu.

Josh Izaac pursued their education at The University of Western Australia, where they completed their Bachelor's Degree in Physics and Applied Mathematics from 2009 to 2012. Josh further advanced their knowledge and skills by undertaking a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) program in Theoretical and Mathematical Physics at the same university from 2013 to 2017.
