Gordon R. Taylor

Chief Parks Officer at Xanterra Parks & Resorts

Taylor brings more than 25 years of hospitality management to his position, most recently serving as Arizona Regional General Manager for Xanterra. He currently oversees operations and management for Xanterra’s larger national park operations, including Yellowstone and Grand Canyon National Parks, as well as The Oasis at Death Valley. Previously to that, Taylor served as Regional General Manager of TW Recreational Services’ Utah Parks Division, which was purchased by Xanterra in December 1995. Taylor’s previous experience includes positions in departmental director-level management and property general management.

Taylor is a past board member of the Northern Arizona Sustainable Economic Development Initiative, a member of the Northern Arizona Green Building Association, and has been actively involved with several travel and tourism associations, including the National Park Hospitality Association, Taylor also works closely with the National Park Service related to company operations in the national parks. Taylor has been instrumental in making the Grand Canyon Railway one of the most environmentally friendly short-line railways in the U.S., with the operation having been repeatedly recognized for its innovative environmental solutions.
