Janelle Ortiz has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies and roles. Janelle started their career at The University of Texas as an Undergraduate Research Assistant, where they conducted research on the bacteria Wolbachia and gained experience in DNA extraction, PCR amplification, gel electrophoresis, and DNA sequencing. Janelle then moved on to the Cancer Research Institute of Scott & White as a Research Assistant I, where they performed a variety of scientific assays including ELISA assays, protein assays, gel electrophoresis, and RT-PCR. Janelle joined XBiotech USA, Inc. in 2010 as a Senior Research Associate, where they gained expertise in antibody sequence isolation using Phage Display Technology. Janelle also performed biomolecular interaction analysis and cytokine activity assays. Janelle continued to progress in the company, taking on roles as an Associate Scientist III, Manager of Analytical Chromatography, and currently as a QC Manager.
In 2012, Janelle briefly worked at Life Technologies as an Associate Scientist III before returning to XBiotech USA, Inc.
