Nicholas Martin

Nicholas Martin is a seasoned expert in clean energy, sustainability, and climate action, currently serving as the Director of Strategic Outreach & Advocacy at Xcel Energy since October 2013. In this role, Nicholas co-leads the Equity Stakeholder Advisory Group and developed the Resilient Minneapolis Project to enhance community resilience through solar and battery microgrids. Previously, Nicholas held various positions at Xcel Energy, including Policy & Outreach Manager and Manager of Energy & Environmental Policy, where significant contributions included developing a leading carbon reduction strategy. Experience also encompasses serving as Chief Technical Officer at the American Carbon Registry, managing carbon offset protocols, and early roles in environmental policy and resource management across multiple organizations. Nicholas holds an MS in Energy & Resources from the University of California, Berkeley, and a BA in Music from Yale University.
