Melissa Hawks

Melissa Hawks has a versatile work experience in various roles and positions. Melissa is currently working as Vice President of Finance at Xcelerate Solutions since November 2021. Prior to that, they served as the Controller at Xcelerate Solutions from February 2018 to November 2021.

Before joining Xcelerate Solutions, Melissa worked at IBA (Irving Burton Associates) as a Controller in 2017. Melissa also held the position of Controller at Suntiva LLC from October 2015 to June 2017. Previously, they worked as a Controller at Manufacturing Techniques, Inc. (MTEQ) from April 2014 to October 2015.

Melissa has also gained valuable experience at Elbit Systems of America. Melissa served as the Controller from November 2011 to April 2013 and as the Assistant Controller from March 2010 to November 2011. In these roles, they supervised all functions of the accounting department, managed accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and payroll functions, and prepared monthly financial statements and quarterly blue books for consolidation.

Melissa held multiple roles including Accounting Manager from March 2005 to March 2010, Senior Staff Accountant from August 2003 to February 2005, Payroll Administrator from May 2001 to August 2003, and HR Generalist from October 2000 to May 2001. In these positions, they were responsible for various accounting functions, revenue recognition, payroll processing, and human resources projects.

Melissa also has experience as a Human Resources Consultant at Kforce in 2000 and as a Consultant at Randstad Technologies US from August 1999 to June 2000.

Melissa Hawks attended George Mason University from 2007 to 2011, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Accounting. Prior to that, they studied English Literature at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from 1986 to 1990. Melissa also holds additional certifications, including being a Certified Public Accountant obtained from the Virginia Board of Accountancy in December 2011, and being a Certified Payroll Professional obtained from the American Payroll Association in April 2003.
