Rebecca Dean

Rebecca Dean has a decade of work experience in various roles. Rebecca began their career in 2005 as a Librarian at Brooklyn Public Library. In 2007, they moved to the International Rescue Committee as a Digital Resource Specialist. In 2008, they became a Graduate Student Researcher at the Center for the Study of Women, UCLA. In 2010, they held two positions, a Production Coordinator at Biz Kid$ LLP and a QA Lead at Swype Inc. In 2011, they joined Nuance Communications as a Quality Assurance Engineer. In 2014, they worked at two companies, Aereo as a Web Application Tester and Virgin Pulse as a Mobile QA Engineer. From 2015 to 2017, they worked at Fitbit as a Software QA Engineer. Her most recent role was at Xealth as a Program Manager - Operational Excellence, Director of Operations, and QA Lead.

Rebecca Dean attended the University of California, Los Angeles from 2007 to 2011, where they earned an ABD in Information Studies. From 2005 to 2007, they attended the Pratt Institute, earning an M.S. LIS in Library and Information Sciences. Prior to that, they attended New York University from 2002 to 2004, where they earned a Bachelor of Liberal Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies, Critical Cultural Theory. Rebecca also holds a GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC) from GIAC Certifications, which they obtained in December 2022.
