Preben Haaning

Preben Haaning is an accomplished executive with extensive experience in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors, including a current role as a Board Member at Xellia Pharmaceuticals, where support is provided to the leadership team in ensuring the availability of critical anti-infective products. Preben previously held various Senior Vice President positions at Novo Nordisk from 1999 to 2025, managing large organizations, overseeing multiple manufacturing sites across several countries, and responsible for numerous medical device and biologics manufacturing processes. Preben's early career includes leadership roles in the Danish Army and with the United Nations. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Engineering in Industrial Engineering from DTU and a Graduate Diploma in Business Administration from Copenhagen Business School. Additionally, Preben has served as a Council Member at the Novo Nordisk Haemophilia Foundation, focusing on improving care access for people with bleeding disorders globally.
