Chief Operating Officer / Chief Product Officer at Xembly

Ziad Ismail's work experience includes holding various leadership roles in multiple companies. Ziad currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer and Founder & Board of Directors at Xembly since December 2020. Prior to that, they worked as the Chief Operating Officer at H1 from November 2021 to January 2023.

Before joining Xembly and H1, Ziad was the Chief Product Officer at Convoy Inc from September 2016 to November 2021, where they played a key role in transforming the trucking industry through data science, design, growth, and product development.

Ziad also has extensive experience at Marchex, where they held several positions including Chief Product Officer/Senior Vice President of Product & Engineering from May 2013 to September 2016. In this role, they were responsible for leading a large team across product, engineering, data sciences, and operations. Ziad also served as the Vice President of Product from February 2012 to April 2013 and Senior Director of Product Management from October 2011 to February 2012.

Earlier in their career, Ziad worked at Microsoft in various product management positions. Ziad served as the Director of Product Management for Internet Explorer from October 2010 to October 2011. Prior to that, they held roles such as Director of Product Management for Windows Phone & Mobile Services, Group Planning Manager for Windows Live, MSN & Search Mobile, Sr Product Manager for Windows Live, MSN & Search Mobile, and Product Manager for Microsoft Office.

Before their tenure at Microsoft, Ziad founded and served as CEO for Inspire Infrastructure from 2001 to 2002, and CitiKey from 1998 to 2001. Ziad also gained experience as an Officer in the Swedish Armed Forces from 1994 to 1995.

Ziad Ismail holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Harvard Business School, which was completed in 2004. Prior to that, they obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Computer Science from KTH Royal Institute of Technology in 1998.
