Austin Moore has worked in the software engineering field since 2000. Austin's career began with a Software Engineering Intern role at COC Computer Consulting GmbH, where they developed Visual C++ and automated software testing. In 2001, they moved to Siemens AG as a Software Developer, where they were responsible for rich client development in Java and Makefile development. In 2002, they became a Senior Software Developer at Avid Development GmbH, where they developed rich client applications with Java and Swing, as well as server development with Java, Spring and Hibernate. Austin also coached interns. In 2007, they joined namics (deutschland) gmbh as a Senior Software Engineer, where they were responsible for web development in Java with Spring and Hibernate, as well as Ruby on Rails development and technical lead of projects. That same year, they also took on a role as a Lehrbeauftragter at Munich University of Applied Sciences, where they co-authored a SEUH 2009 accepted paper. In 2009, they became a Senior Solutions Engineer at Logica Deutschland GmbH & Co. KG, and a Volunteer Software Developer at Augmented Outdoors. In 2011, they moved to Burda Wireless GmbH as Head of Engineering and Senior Software Developer, where they were responsible for web/backend development with Ruby, coaching of developers, and technical project management. In 2013, they joined Shore GmbH as a Senior Software Developer, where they were responsible for web/API development in Ruby with Rails and Sinatra, as well as database development and optimization with PostgreSQL, MongoDB and ElasticSearch. Since 2018, they have been a Senior Principal Software Engineer at Xempus AG.

Austin Moore obtained a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Michigan Technological University between 1997 and 2001. During this time, they also participated in an international exchange program at the University of Stuttgart. In addition, Moore has obtained certifications from Sun Microsystems, the University of Stuttgart, and the Goethe-Institut e.V. These certifications include a Sun Certified Java Programmer (2002), a Deutsche Sprachprüfung für den Hochschulzugang (1999), and a Zertifikat Deutsch als Fremdsprache (1998).
