Bernard Gilden has extensive work experience in the insurance industry. Bernard started their career as an Actuarial Student at Aetna in 1987 and later became an Actuarial Consultant at Arthur Andersen, LLP in 1995. In 1997, they joined The Hartford and held various roles such as AVP and Actuary, Personal Lines Pricing and AVP and Claims Actuary. From 2001 to 2010, they worked as an AVP and Segment Actuary and AVP, Sr Risk Analyst and Actuary at The Hartford. In 2010, they became the Vice President & Actuary at The Hartford, responsible for reserving across all Commercial Market Lines of business. In 2012, they joined XL Group as the Vice President and Global Claim Actuary, where they led the design and implementation of the Global Claim Actuarial function.
Bernard Gilden obtained a Bachelor of Applied Math and Statistics degree in Business and Computer Science from Stony Brook University, where they studied from 1983 to 1987.
