Panagiotis Giagkoulas has a diverse work experience that spans across several industries and roles. Starting with their most recent position at Xomnia, they worked as a Tata Steel Group Machine Learning Engineer, focusing on predictive maintenance to overcome mechanical failures in steel production lines. Panagiotis also held the role of Machine Learning Engineer, where they gathered, explored, and prepared data for future machine learning applications at TIP-Group.

Prior to their time at Xomnia, Panagiotis worked at Thunderbyte.AI as a Machine Learning Engineer. Here, they designed and implemented a risk prediction system for the pharmaceutical domain, utilizing OCR, information extraction, feature engineering, and machine learning. Panagiotis also used various tools such as OpenCV, PyTesseract, Sci-kit Learn, Tensorflow, Keras, Confluence, Jira, Git, and Bamboo.

Before that, they were a Machine Learning Intern at theFactor.e, where they conducted their master thesis project on predicting online article popularity. During their internship, they were responsible for both the conceptual and development stages of the project.

Panagiotis also has experience as a Junior Java web developer at EUROPEAN DYNAMICS, where they worked on back-end and front-end development using Java EE, Hibernate, JDBC, REST, Javascript, Angular 1.0, and Bootstrap.

During their military service in the Greek army, they served as an Informatics R&D Private, assisting in equipment preparation, resolving network issues, providing tech support, and participating in the development of the Iris platform.

Additionally, they have held positions as a Software Development Intern at Safemarket Ltd and as a Team Leader in Recruitment and Social Media Manager at AIESEC.

Lastly, Panagiotis worked as a Team Leader at Athloupoli-summer camp community, where they organized and monitored activities for children between 8-13 years old.

Panagiotis Giagkoulas completed their Master's degree in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Groningen between 2018 and 2020. Prior to that, they attended the University of Macedonia from 2011 to 2015, where they studied Applied Informatics. Panagiotis also obtained their High School Diploma from the 1st Experimental Lyceum in Thessaloniki from 2005 to 2011. Additionally, they hold a certification as a Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate, which they obtained in January 2023 from Microsoft.
