Artem Smirnov

Artem Smirnov is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in technology strategy and venture capital. Currently serving as a Partner at Xora Innovation since October 2021, Artem supports investment opportunities in deep tech, particularly within clean energy and quantum security. As Founding Director at TAE Life Sciences since May 2017, Artem has played a pivotal role in transforming radiation therapy and has been instrumental in building an executive team and securing funding. Artem's prior tenure at TAE Technologies, Inc. spanned from September 2006 to July 2024, where roles included Chief Technology Officer and R&D Director, leading significant projects in fusion energy and medical technology. Artem began a research career at Princeton Plasma Physics Lab, specializing in spacecraft propulsion systems, and holds a PhD in Plasma Physics from Princeton University, an MBA from UCLA Anderson School of Management, and a Master of Science in Physics from Nizhny Novgorod State University.
