Pokang Chen

PoKang Chen is a skilled perception software engineer currently employed at XPENG since July 2021, focusing on localization, mapping, computer vision, and machine learning. Significant contributions include the implementation of localization algorithms that enhanced pose accuracy for autonomous vehicles and the development of a rule-based mechanism for map association, improving data reliability. Previously, PoKang held internships at notable companies such as iRobot, where occupancy grid map sharing was implemented, and Changan US R&D Center, where multi-object tracking was developed using a Kalman Filter CA2D model. PoKang also completed a firmware engineering internship at Gogoro. PoKang holds a Master's degree in Robotics from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from National Taiwan University.
