Ben Saunders

Ben Saunders has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Ben currently serves as the Head of IT Infrastructure at XPS Pensions Group, holding this position since May 2021. Prior to this role, they worked at the same company as an IT Operations Manager from June 2018 to April 2021. Before joining XPS, Ben held various positions at different companies. Ben was a 3rd line escalations engineer and later a 2nd line engineer at Timico Technology Services from October 2016 to May 2018. Ben also worked as a Business Technical Support Engineer at Steljes from January 2014 to May 2016. Additionally, Ben served as an IT Support Analyst at Lonza from December 2004 to December 2013. Ben started their career as an IT Helpdesk employee at Foster Wheeler Energy Ltd and later worked as IT Support at Centrica in 2002. Before entering the IT field, Ben gained experience as a Hardware Engineer at EAF Supply Chain. Their earliest work experience was as a Sales Assistant at Waitrose, a role they held from May 1994 to April 2001.

Ben Saunders completed their education at various institutions. From 1994 to 1997, they attended Bracknell and Wokingham College, where they obtained a Bachelor of Technology (BTech) degree in Information Technology. Prior to that, from 1989 to 1994, they attended Easthampstead Park School. Later, from 1997 to 2000, they studied at the University of West London, earning an HND in Computer Studies. In terms of certifications, they obtained various Microsoft certifications such as MCSE: Mobility - Certified 2018, MCSA Office 365, MCSA: Windows 10, MCSA: Windows 7, MCITP: Enterprise Desktop Support Technician on Windows 7, MCTS: Windows 7, Configuration, MCITP: Enterprise Support Technician on Windows Vista, MCSA1: Windows Server 2003, MCDST: Windows XP, MCSA1: Windows 2000. Additionally, they obtained certifications from VMware (VMware VCP6-DCV), ITIL (ITIL Foundation), InfoCom (AV essentials), and SMART Technologies (SMART Room System for Microsoft Lync / Skype for Business certification).
